Instructor: Robyn Holt

ROBYN HOLT’s passion for art and interdisciplinary teaching has exposed her to manydisciplines, including drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, welding, sculpture, and her most favorite, ceramics. She earned her B.A. with honors in Art Education from the California State University of San Bernardino.

Robyn is CBEST certified and has been volunteering at the American Museum of Ceramic Art as an education special projects intern since October 2013. She works closely with the education staff to construct educational tools and kits for the museum’s student education program. Robyn is also a ceramics instructor in the AMOCA studio and through their outreach program. She has worked with students, youth organizations such as the Girl Scouts, adults with disabilities, and senior citizens teaching ceramic techniques, history, and scholastic terms. Additionally, Robyn teaches ceramics at Foothill Country Day School in Claremont CA, and enjoys using her art education background as a tool to challenge, inspire, and explore creative and critical thinking in the classroom. Most of Robyn’s work in ceramics revolves around nature and organic forms, but recently she has been concentrating on utilitarian projects and rediscovering the rudimentary skills and methods used to create functional ceramic pieces.
